Christmas Trading (Places) 2021 | New Year | New Workshop

Well, we’ve made it through another year hand in hand with the pandemic.

In 2020 I took a leap of faith and Little Anvil became a full-time job instead of a part-time venture.

In 2021 it continued to grow steadily, and so much so we have locked in a new larger workshop/warehouse that we are scheduled to move into at the start of February next year.

If you had asked me 2 or 3 years ago if that would have been a reality, I wouldn’t have been sure, but I’ve always dreamt of having my own ‘proper’ workshop, and here I am - finally being able to say I do.

Yes it’s scary, yes it’s exciting and yes, - it’s somewhat of a coming of age - finally, at 45!

What’s the best dimmer for my LED light bulbs?

A question that’s surely had more Google searches than Jake Paul and Connor McGregor combined. If you’ve found yourself going down a rabbit hole but still don’t have the answer, this blog is for you.

I’m going to tell you the best way to dim our range of 240v LED light bulbs because they are tried and tested, and if you use our products, this will work for you too. 120v Countries, hang tight, we’ll have information for you and your Little Anvil Light Bulbs coming soon…

Since incandescent and inefficient globes started to disappear from the market, the LED took over with a vengeance. Older style dimmer switches weren’t advanced enough to deal with the internal electronics of an LED light bulb, so initially dimming was plagued by random errors and was incredibly frustrating.

What a year. In 2020 I decided to take a leap of faith to turn Little Anvil from a part-time venture into a full-time job (with a little nudge from the pandemic).

Despite the inherent challenges of COVID-19, we have shipped all over the world; with timber beam lights, brackets, lighting and hardware circling their way around the globe, from boardrooms in Canada to cafes in Canberra.

It has been incredible to receive all your support, and now it’s time for a well-deserved break and to spend some much missed time with family, before firing up again in 2021.

Our last day of shipping will be Friday 18th December.

The Balvenie Stories | Whisky And Alement

I’m a Glaswegian living in Melbourne and I’ve been watching as the pandemic has impacted both my home and adopted towns. We’ve been in lockdown in Melbourne for the best part of the last 6 months and it’s affected entire sectors, including the hospitality industry which supports our enviable and much-talked-about bar and restaurant scene.

Stepping away from light fittings and decor for a moment, I’d like to acknowledge two incredible businesses on opposite sides of the globe, adapting and evolving in a difficult economic climate, who put together a brilliant online event that I was lucky to be a part of last week – and stick with me, this post involves whisky.

COVID-19 Update | Little Anvil

The state of Victoria in Australia has recently entered stage 4 restrictions to combat COVID-19, resulting in many businesses temporarily ceasing operations until mid-September.

We are continuing to largely operate as normal, however, for some of our product lines, we are carrying limited stock that cannot be replenished until the lockdown eases.

We have also had to temporarily increase international shipping costs on smaller enveloped items such as nuts, bolts and screws as there have been price increases due to the limited amount of flights and services. Paying a little more means that you should still receive your items in a timely fashion.
